We English have been in Britain for around 1,500 years, since the Romans left. That's a long time, and it will be sad if we all leave the island that has become our home, or are driven out by foreign immigration.

But now our descendants are spread all over the world, and many other nations have benefited from our laws, culture and above all our language. Like the Romans', our influence extends far beyond our little island, and will go on for many centuries into the future.

And who knows, one day our descendants might return home again, like the Jews of Israel.

Those of us who were there in England's Finest Hour are getting fewer now, but our spirit will live on in history.
(But I've been away since 1955, and I'm too old now to go back and join whatever organisation may be started to put up a fight.)
