Now here's a curly question.

In a war, atrocities occur, it's just a part of war. Say, unnecessary killing of civilians.
But who is more likely to commit them, volunteers or conscripts?

Some volunteers may have joined up just to kill, and make pigs of themselves given the chance.
Or some conscripts may be so disgruntled with the army that they take it out on those who can't fight back.

But that's a question for the officers to sort out, and now soldiers are supposed to refuse an illegal order. Some hopes!
